Who am I?

Z Meetings was established in 2005 and is owned by Karin Egede

I was born and raised in Narsaq in South Greenland and I have a Danish/Greenlandic background with roots planted firmly in both countries. I am a Master of Sciences from Roskilde University in Denmark, specializing in Arctic Tourism.

I have traveled all over Greenland and visited towns and settlements from Qaanaaq in the North to Nanortalik in the South, as well as Ittoqqortoormiit and Tasiilaq in East Greenland. I have an in-depth knowledge of most towns and settlements in Greenland.

Examples of conferences in Greenland:

Future Greenland conferences: Greenland’s largest business conference held every two years. 450+ participants, primarily business people from Greenland, the Nordic countries and North America. Coordination of the conference on behalf of Greenland Business Association, everything from presenters, registration, correspondence with the conference participants, etc. Z Meetings has been responsible for the Future Greenland conference in 2024, 2022, 2019, 2017, 2015, 2013 and 2009.

In 2024 the youth conference, Future of Greenland, was introduced with participation of appr. 470 students attending the youth conference in Nuuk followed by Future of Greenland held in Sisimiut, Greenland’s second largest educational city in Greenland.

Vestnorden Travel Mart: The Travel Trade Show for Iceland, Greenland and The Faroe Islands. Greenland is the host every 4 years. Z Meetings has been project manager for Vestnorden Travel Mart in 2022, 2017, 2013 and 2005. 400+ industry professionals from 20+ countries.

Coordination/development of the registration module, pre-tours, exhibition booth, transport to/from Greenland and hotel accommodation for all participants, B2B meetings etc.

Arctic Circle Greenland Forum: Arctic Circle has been held in Nuuk twice, in 2022 and 2016, where Z Meetings was the Arctic Circle Secretariat’s partner both times. 400+ participants from more than 15 countries participated in the Arctic Circle Greenland Forum.

ICC: Inuit Circumpolar Conference (ICC): Coordination of Delegates Meeting and Arctic Peoples Conference in Ilulissat July 2023. 160 participants from Canada, Alaska, Greenland, Sami from Norway, Finland and Sweden as well as observers from Iceland and the Scandinavian countries.

Arctic Parliamentary Summit, 2022: Coordination of flights, hotel and meeting rooms as well as open house arrangement in collaboration with Sila Greenland. Arctic Parliamentarians consists of politicians from 8 Arctic countries and the EU.

PDAC: Coordination of the Greenland Business delegation to the Prospectors & Develops Association of Canada (Mining Fair with 20,000+ participants). Greenland participates annually in PDAC with a business delegation from Greenland and Denmark. Z Meetings has participated in the coordination of the business delegation every year since 2009, which in recent years has been organized by Greenland Business, Danish Industry and the Danish Consulate in Toronto.

Challenges when holding events in Greenland

Clients can rely on Z Meetings experience and advice on venues, seasons and when and where to hold an event in Greenland – or not to, depending on the choice of place and season.  Karin Egede has visited 16 of the 18 cities in Greenland and has been involved in the travel business for more than 30 years. Karin has a personal and professional knowledge of the possible subcontractors for any event. Karin had her childhood in Southgreenland and have lived more than 20 years in Nuuk.
